This superior Cabbage Teapot was designed,
made and decorated by Roger Michell at his Lustre Pottery. This
is a large bodied teapot, which has a capacity of about four pints, and emulates
the Staffordshire Whieldon teapots of the later half of the eighteenth century.
Of course the 18th century examples were smaller (tea being a great luxury
then), and were half the size of this one.
This example is one of a small limited edition commisssioned for the Kaffe
Fassett shop in Bath. 60 examples were intended but only around half the
edition was actually produced.. Height : 23 cm. Withdrawn
