This superior Cabbage Teapot was designed, made and decorated by Roger Michell at his Lustre Pottery.This is a large bodied teapot, which has a capacity of about four pints, and emulates the Staffordshire Whieldon teapots of the later half of the eighteenth century. Of course the 18th century examples were smaller (tea being a great luxury then), and were half the size of this one.
This example is one of a small limited edition commisssioned for the Kaffe Fassett shop in Bath. 60 examples were intended but only around half the edition was actually produced.. The teapot illustrated above is for sale Price £160 . Height : 23 cm. Withdrawn
